StudyBuddy is designed to help you study effectively while keeping your data secure. This policy explains what data StudyBuddy collects, how it’s processed, and how it’s protected.

Data We Collect

StudyBuddy collects and stores the following data under your authenticated account:

• Account information you provide (name, email)
• Study materials you upload (text, images, PDFs)
• AI-generated flashcards, quizzes, and study plans
• Quiz results, accuracy scores, and study session history
• Streaks, XP levels, and achievement progress
• AI Tutor chat messages

We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, location data, or usage analytics beyond what is necessary for the app experience.

How Data Is Stored

• Cloud storage — study materials, flashcards, quiz results, and progress data are stored securely under your authenticated user account. Data is only accessible by the account owner.
• AI processing — your study materials are processed by AI services to generate flashcards, quizzes, study plans, and tutor responses. This data is sent to our AI providers for processing and is not retained by them beyond what is needed to complete the request.
• Authentication — your credentials are managed securely and are not stored by Synonymy.

Third-Party Services

StudyBuddy uses third-party AI services to generate flashcards, quizzes, study plans, and tutor responses. Your study materials and chat messages are sent to these services for processing.

StudyBuddy also uses third-party services for secure authentication and cloud data storage.

No data is shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual topics, flashcards, and study data within the app. To request full deletion of your cloud-stored account data, contact us at hello@synonymy.studio.

Children’s Privacy

StudyBuddy is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
